Another Really Good Day

I was able to open the store by myself today. Well, to be honest, I did everything but swipe the magic card that starts up the register. I haven't been issued one yet, so I had to wait till a coworker came in. She was 29 minutes late, but made it before 10 with a few seconds to spare.

I did a crapload of receiving today, which might sound boring, but I really like it. I'm able to go through all the new books and see which ones are interesting and which ones are crap. Then I get to put them all away. YAY!

After work I took the bus to Uptown, because I missed my regular bus by three seconds. I was trying to cross the street, but there was too much traffic. When I was finally able to cross, the bus took off. Oh well. It was a blessing in disguise because I noticed a really cool bead store on Hennepin. So I got off at the next stop and walked a block to check it out. OMG BEADS! I didn't even see one-tenth of the store, yet I left there spending $30! But I got some great beads that will make some really pretty earrings. And I've got a jewelry making book on hold for me at the store. I'll buy it with my first paycheck. I can't hardly wait.

things are good. It's hot here, but things are good. I'm going to go eat the stew that I made last night. I put it in the crockpot and went to bed. Every time I woke up (I wake up a lot during the night) all I could smell was stew and it made me so hungry. Phillip ate some before he went to work and he said it was great. I can tell -- he ate all the potatoes and left all the carrots for me. argh! That's ok. I like carrots.

hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. I'm just going to chill (I have the weekend off!) and play with Lola. Maybe make some cupcakes and work on some earrings. I have a design in my head that I want to try out. I hope it works!
