holy christ...
my grandparents have been married for sixty years today. SIXTY. SIX-OH! they met when they were 12 and 13 years old (my grampa likes older women!) and they have been together ever since.
this warms my heart. they are getting older and can't hear as well and aren't as spry as they used to be, but for 80 years old, they are doing OK.
i called them today and my grampa sounded like he was slurring his words. that got me a little upset. i don't want him to have a stroke or anything like that. my grannie is doing fine. she was busy planning a big pre-christmas christmas party for when phillip and i travel back to see them in two weeks. they are excited to see us. we're staying the weekend only, because both phillip and i couldn't get the time off of work for christmas. believe it or not, i have to work on christmas eve...which is a SATURDAY. ugh.
anyway, every time i think about our wedding i think about how my grandparents have been together for longer than anyone i've ever known. if they could stay together for sixty years, through all the bad stuff as well as the good, so can mr griffin and i.

You're grandparents have been together longer than many people live.
They look pretty swingin' in this picture, although Grandma has either a look of fear or maybe a little disgust.
Maybe the photographer was in the way of their groove.
they were dancing to dean martin!
and i caught my grannie off guard. she looks surprised. it's the only good picture we have of them from the wedding.
They were dancing to Dino?!
Even better. I just teared up.
