Today marks the official two month anniversary of our new lives in Minneapolis. I know I can speak for my husband when I say that we're so incredibly happy here. Every few days we ask each other "Do you miss Boston?" and we both answer "No!". To me, that's a good sign.
We love our neighborhood and we love our apartment. We love the old school kitchen appliances and the drippy faucet. We love the big windows and the late night drafts. We love the hardwood floors and the rusty nails that pepper them. We love the red and yellow walls, despite the horrible paint job. We love the claw foot bathtub and the dismal water pressure. We love the built in buffet and the scratched to high heaven mirror on top of it. And most of all, we love the cheap rent we pay to our absentee landlords.
Our new kitty loves our place too. I think she's happy we saved her from a crazy four year old that was convinced she could dance. That's another reason why we named her Lola...she was a showgirl. But we saved her from that lifestyle. She's much happier now. Oh, and she loves chicken treats, not turkey.
Tomorrow marks our three year anniversary. It was three years ago tomorrow that Phillip and I, uh, made our relationship official (wink-wink, nudge-nudge, say no more!). Some days, three years seems like eternity, while other days I feel like we just met. On April 15th (Tax day!) we'll be married for 6 months. Our first year of marriage is almost half over. It's really hard to believe. I'm pretty sure we just got married yesterday.
I never look forward to turning the clocks back. I hate losing an hour sleep. But thankfully we do it tonight and not tomorrow. I start the new job on Monday and can't show up in zombie mode, that's for sure. I don't think they would appreciate it.

Boston sucks.
Hardwood floors rock.
Do you have a big 'ole clothes pin to keep the 360 degree shower curtian in place around your claw foot bathtub? I hate those tubs - I'll take a fiberglass shower/tub anyday.
Glad to hear you're still liking MN, even after your first blizzard.
Congrats on your new job, BTW.
hi josh-
we have 3 (THREE!) shower curtains around our tub. and even three isn't enough. once i get the motivation i'll look for longer shower curtains so they fit all the way around. but we haven't had any flooding or wet floors yet, so i must have done something right :)
i don't think boston sucks, it's just too expensive for people who make less than $75K a year. it's hard to survive in that town. kinda sad. but i DO miss the red sox. i'll have to see them play the twins when they come to town in june.
