The White Stripes' new album is due out on June 19th, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to purchase it. I generally dig The White Stripes and, if you weren't aware, Jack White is one of my secret boyfriends. Heh. Anyway, you should check out the new song Icky Thump and watch the video. Because it rocks and I said so.

Oh, that song does rock. What a wild collision of cultures! And if you listen closely, you can hear echoes of 1970's dinosaur arena rock sandwiched in between the spare guitar riffs and drum lines. The squeaky little keyboard lines made me laugh.
This minimalist lineup only works, of course, if you are as supremely talented as Jack White. Meg's an okay drummer, but Jack's voice and guitar chops are other-wordly.
The song is cool - and the guitaring is great - the drummer needs to go cuz SHE DOES SUCK! She even looks like she don't know what she's doing. she's just bad.
i have to disagree, anonymous. i don't think meg is a bad drummer. sure, jack is more talented, but she doesn't suck. just wondering: can you do any better?
ps) it's "doesn't know", not "don't know", unless you want me to take that as a double negative and indeed, she knows what she's doing.
I heard "Icky Thump" on 89.3 the Current yesterday - it still rocks!
But I heard it first on Honey Bunny's blog!
